‘Matildas: Recoded’ is a generative art project that transforms live FIFA Women’s World Cup match data into immersive digital motion artworks.

For MATILDAS: RECODED, we teamed up with VANDAL to help translate raw, real-time match data into a series of dynamic generative artworks. Built from multiple live data feeds—tracking everything from player positions and ball touches to threat levels and AI-generated predictions—the goal was to distill the complexity of the game into an immersive visual experience.

Contributing with Motion design and look development, I focused on creating a language that could express the flow, momentum, and strategy playing out on the field. Exhibited across large-scale LED screens during the tournament and later shown at SXSW 2023, the final pieces offer a fresh lens on football—where data becomes drama.
